My first day in Ilocos clearly isn’t over and it still amazes me. We traveled for about 25 minutes from St. William’s Cathedral to the last tourist spot of the day, La Paz San Dunes. La Paz Sand dunes is also known as Bantay Bimmaboy. This sandy coastal desert took me in awe! Although it was extremely hot but the sight is truly breathtaking. Aside from its scenic view, it is also famous for local films Temptation Island, Panday and Walang Himala and international movies such as 4th of July and Mad Max.
Striking a pose first before the ultimate rides. I urge everyone to try their 4 x 4 ride and unlimited sand boarding (P500.00/ person for 4-5 persons each 4 x 4). As what I’ve said with my friends “I didn’t travel this far only to take good pictures, I want to experience Ilocos” and I think that is a touristy thing to say. We should cease every moment and opportunity cause we’ll never know when it will come again.
Our buggy 4 x 4 for today. Lucky for us we have it all for ourselves since we got secluded from the other groups. Whoohoo.. VIP! P.S. Don’t forget sunblock cause it is extremely hot and you would really be exposed to the sun.
Tip: You should scream your lungs out because if you don’t, Kuya driver will get the hint that you are not enjoying thus taking the harder route. Every ups, downs, twists and turns is very thrilling and gets harder each time. You should really get a tight grip on those handles. We were right about our theory because we’ve noticed that we took different paths from the others. Or… we just had a sadist driver who’d like to see us suffer. haha.. Nonetheless, we had an awesome hell of a ride.
The last spot where they took us was near the coastal shore. It was so surreal and like in the movies. Riding a 4 x 4 by the shore while raising your hands, touching the ocean breeze and enjoying the heat of the sun. What a beautiful life!
At the top of the sand board hill, I got so drained by the 4 x 4 ride and the heat of the sun that I took only one sand board ride although it was unlimited. I enjoyed watching other tourists sled their way down the sandy hill and eventually got to try it. It is not that scary and dangerous as you would perceive it to be but it is loads of fun. I got sand inside my shoes and shorts but no regrets.
The first glimpse of my shopping success (or disaster) featured on my blog last June 5, 2017 The Php 1,000.00 challenge. This shirt is from Men’s Club. It’s really affordable and comfortable, perfect for the very hot weather here in Ilocos.
Hope you guys had fun reading my article on La Paz Sand Dunes. You should definitely check the place out. It is definitely worth it.
